During the 2020-21 academic year, Linfield welcomed some new faces to its leadership team.
Joseph Hunter, vice president for university advancement
Hunter joined Linfield on Jan. 11 and is responsible for the university’s fundraising efforts and building relationships with donors and alumni. He previously served as the assistant vice chancellor of development at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., where he oversaw a team of 35 in raising about $30

Jennifer R. Madden, dean of the School of Business
Madden started as the inaugural dean of the School of Business on Sept. 1. She came to Linfield from Carthage College, where she was department chair, associate professor of management and marketing, and director of the Master of Business Design and Innovation Program. Madden brings experience in higher education, real estate and economic development.
Gerardo Ochoa, associate vice president for retention and student success
Ochoa was named associate vice president on July 1, 2021, after working at Linfield since 2003. In his new role, he is responsible for financial aid and student retention. Previously, Ochoa was the director of community relations and special assistant to the president, where he led strategic initiatives and partnerships to increase enrollment and represented the institution on community-focused groups.
Joe Wilferth, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences
Wilferth joined Linfield on Sept. 1 as the inaugural dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. He previously served as interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and the UC Foundation Professor of English at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Under his leadership, the college raised nearly $4 million and grew to record enrollment levels.
