1960-69

Susan (Young) McGinty ’66 of Sacramento, California, plans to walk the Portuguese coastal route of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in September on the anniversary of the death of her husband of 55 years, Denis.

Augustus Gladding ’68 of Goodyear, Arizona, was featured in the Pebble Creek Post for making a hole-in-one at Tuscany Falls East Golf Course. It is his third career hole-in-one.

James Johnson ’68 of Keaau, Hawaii, sailed to the island of Kosrae in Micronesia from the Solomon Islands on his self-designed and built steel ketch LOVE.

1970-79

Dan Koenig ’70 of Eugene had an acting role in the October 2023 movie “Among Wolves,” alongside Trace Adkins and Edward Finlay.

Robert Emrick ’72 of McMinnville received the McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award in November 2023. He has been a business owner and civic leader for many decades.

Ronald Callan ’74 of Tigard, was honored by Oregon State University for calling his 500th game as the radio voice for OSU Beavers women’s basketball.

Wendell Say ’78 of Wahiawa, Hawaii, retired as head football coach at Aiea High School, where he coached for over 40 years.

Paul Dombroski ’79 of Odessa, Florida, was inducted into the Linfield University Athletics Hall of Fame in November 2023.

1980-89

Carmil White Ritchey ’80 of Gresham, retired after 43 years in the insurance industry.

Randall Mueller ’83 of Kirkland, Washington, was inducted into the North Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame in April 2024.

Ava (Maliner) Philippus ’83 of Aurora, Colorado, retired in 2023, after teaching preschool for the last 19 years. She was in Linfield’s first exchange program to Japan, and worked for the Consulate General of Japan in Seattle before moving to Colorado.

Daniel Preston ’83 of McMinnville, retired after 40+ years in higher education administration, including 35 years at Linfield in admission, financial aid and enrollment.

Wanda (Wahl) Fulton ’85 of Dillingham, Alaska, is the director of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Bristol Bay Campus. She served as interim director since May 2021 and first UAF in 1985.

Carla (Lowrance) Axtman ’86 of Sublimity is the managing editor of the Oregon Blue Book with the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office. The 2023-24 edition released in March her first issue as editor.

Doug Hire ’87 of Salem retired from Linfield University on 30, 2024, after 24 years of service. He was most recently senior associate athletic director and interim director.

Anastacia (Sims) Dillon ’89 of Tualatin successfully defended doctoral dissertation in October to earn her Ph.D. from Lewis and Clark College.

Karin Holsinger ’89 of Portland is second vice president and of staff of corporate finance and accounting for The Standard.

1990-99

Val Love ’90 of Eugene is the juvenile court judge for the County Circuit Court.

Todd Crist ’91 of Portland was hired as the head football coach for Tigard High School.

Mark Hulings ’93 of Longview, Washington, was named to the Lower Columbia College Hall of Fame. Hulings played baseball at LCC before transferring to Linfield.

Jill (Wilkens) Wilkins ’94 of McMinnville was promoted to vice president at snyk (So Now You Know).

Stacy J. Gray ’95 of Renton, Washington, was included in Marquis Who’s Who. She is a registered nurse and comprehensive multiple sclerosis center nurse coordinator Kaiser Permanente Washington.

Heidi (Harris) Moore ’96 of Amity was featured in an L.A. Weekly story titled, “15 Empowering Female-Led Podcasts You Need to Listen to.” Her “Wine Crush” podcast tells stories with a fresh, new take on the wine industry.

Jill B. King ’98 of Sherwood is the marketing and communications manager at The Allison Inn and Spa in Newberg.

Mike McGrath ’98 of Prescott, Arizona, who is a senior partner at Gearing Rackner & McGrath, was selected for the 2023 Super Lawyers List.

2000-09

Linsay Carlson ’01 of Butte, Montana, is a certified public accountant at Red Rock Accounting Solutions.

Carl Haberberger ’01 of Peshastin, Washington, is head football coach of Cascade High School in Leavenworth.

Melanie (Zollars) McGrath ’01 of Missoula, Montana, won the Best of Missoula 2023 award for the Best University of Montana Professor. She is a professor in exercise science the University of Montana.

Audrey Swanson ’01 of Bronx, New York, is the executive of the New York Memory Center in New York City, starting January 2024.

Marie (Snavely) Boatsman ’02 of Sherwood – a 17-year real estate veteran – was featured on the cover of Portland’s “Real Producers” real estate magazine in October 2023.

Richard Crager ’02 of Salem was promoted to assistant county administrator for Benton County.

Elizabeth (Mendenhall) Provost ’02 of Portland is serving a four-year appointment to the Oregon Heritage Commission.

Jesse Warner ’03 of Mukilteo, Washington, was featured as a Founder Friday speaker at Seattle University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. He is one of the founders of Figurehead Brewing, a Seattle-based brewing which opened a second location in 2023.

Kitri (Culbertson) McGuire ’03 of McMinnville started her own business, Scarlet Communications.

Amy (Hintz) Fairchild ’04 of Joseph performed at Tunesmith in February 2024 as part of the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance. She is a composer, pianist, vocalist and music educator. She has released two albums: “Serendipities” (2021) and “Beneath the Surface” (2022).

Otis Gulley ’04 of Portland was inducted into the Linfield Athletics Hall of Fame in November 2023.

Asia (Wisecarver) Payton ’04 of Saint Helens is the general manager of Oregon Ravens, a member of the Women’s National Football Conference.

John Stevenson ’04 of Portland joined the $1.4 billion BluPeak Credit Union as chief financial officer in February.

Justin Samples ’05 of Portland was inducted into the Crater High School Athletics Hall of Fame.

Sherap Tharchen ’05 of Golden, Colorado, is a business attorney and owner of Tharchen Law LLC.

Jessica Balsam ’06 of Alexandria, Virginia, joined Zurich Resilience Solutions as the head of climate solutions on Aug. 7, 2023.

Ashley Blatchley ’06 of Portland is vice president and chief nursing officer at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.

Jaymin Jackson ’10 of Camas, Washington, was featured in Portland Business Journal’s “People on the Move.” He is the senior vice president for M&G Insurance and Risk Management.

Trevor Patterson ’10 of Pendleton is the rodeo coach for Blue Mountain Community College.

Nicholas Safir ’10 of Concord, California, is the head coach at Miramonte High School in Orinda, California.

Jamika Scott ’10 of Tacoma, Washington, was elected as the District 3 representative on the Tacoma City Council.

Taylor Avritt ’11 of Portland was inducted into the Portland Interscholastic League Hall of Fame in 2023.

Catherine (Street) Bridge ’12 of Salem was inducted into the University Athletics Hall of Fame in November 2023.

Emilee (Lepp) Gisler ’12 of Colville, Washington, was inducted the Linfield University Athletics Hall of Fame in November 2023.
