Kira Hawaaboo ’26 placed sixth in the women’s long jump at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, cementing All-America status. The sophomore from Enumclaw, Washington, leaped 19 feet, 0 inches, on her first jump to claim her spot.

The All-America finish capped a remarkable debut season for Hawaaboo. She finished as the Northwest Conference champion in the heptathlon and long jump, broke a 26-year-old Linfield record in the long jump, set a conference-meet record and received NWC Women’s Field Athlete of the Year and U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association West Region Field Athlete of the Year honors.
Hawaaboo played volleyball at Linfield in her first year and had never competed in track and field before this season. She has three seasons of track and field eligibility remaining.
