The Linfield softball team is looking for its third national championship as its 2023 season gets into full swing. The Wildcats were ranked No. 12 in the NFCA Division III Preseason Top 25 poll. Last year, the team earned its 15th NWC regular-season championship and its eighth NWC Tournament title before being knocked out of the NCAA Division III Championships during regional play. A majority of starting players are returning from last year’s squad, including Tayah Kelly ’23, the reigning NWC Pitcher of the Year, who set a single-season program record in 2022 by striking out 252 batters.
