Four School of Nursing students received Nurse Corps Scholarships for the 2022-23 academic year.
- Collin Hoyt ’23 of Holtville, California
- Sarah Miller ’23 of Vancouver, Washington
- Ellie Rogge ’23 of West Bend, Wisconsin
- Monica Salazar ’23 of Hillsboro, Oregon
Each student received a scholarship covering tuition, fees and living expenses.
The program brings high levels of care to underserved communities. After earning their Bachelor of Science in Nursing, the four will work for two years at a critical shortage facility, providing mental health or primary medical care in an area with less access to services.
“In a normal year, we’re proud when one Linfield School of Nursing student receives a Nurse Corps scholarship — it’s very competitive,” Dean Paul Smith said. “When four students are selected, it’s a true honor to our student body, because it shows not only current excellence but also a commitment to bring the highest level of care to the communities who need it most upon graduation.”
