President Miles K. Davis addresses the crowd at Commencement on May 29, 2022, the first in-person ceremony since 2019. The 375 students were the first class to participate in a Linfield University Commencement, notably held 100 years after the first as Linfield College. This event featured several new elements: Students entered the Commencement Green led by gonfalons, sorted by college or school. Academic deans handed out diplomas to undergraduates, as well as students earning master’s degrees. The new university seal was on display on the stage, diplomas and regalia. But, one thing that was the same – the sound of “We’ll Be Loyal” welcoming Linfield’s newest alumni.
