Damian Williams, a Linfield faculty member featured in the Spring 2023 issue of “Linfield Magazine,” died on June 12, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Williams was an assistant professor of practice in the Linfield University School of Business. Since his arrival in fall 2022, he transformed the school’s internship (or as he named it – “industry experience”) program and created the Front Office Sports group that gave students an opportunity to work with real-world sports clients across the Pacific Northwest. He was honored as the university’s R.J. McIntyre Distinguished Professor in May 2024. Before coming to Linfield, Williams had a successful career in sports business and as the softball coach at Willamette University. He is survived by his wife Genesis and son Everson.
